However, in “Seven Year Witch” (season 7), Cole reappears for the first time since his official death as a spirit or ghost eternally trapped in a “cosmic void between life and death”, otherwise known as limbo. Cole did trick Phoebe because if the Source had "possessed" any other demon, Phoebe would not have married them. In other words, Cole/Source used Phoebe's connection to him in order to lure her. In other words, Cole is to blame because without him, there wouldn't have even been a wedding. He's the key to the evil plan. The sound effects of Charmed.
